Models in Paris face particular competitive pressure. There are daily castings for commercials, photo shoots, and fashion magazines. Whoever has the right connections can reach the best addresses. But it’s still a long way to get there.

Conquering the Parisian runway requires several success factors that every aspiring model should bring with them. One of the basic prerequisites is body height. A minimum height of 1.75 m has been considered one of the entry cards for a professional modeling career for years (in general, exceptions do exist, but they are rarer). Although exceptions like Kate Moss continue to make headlines, these models remain the exception to the rule for a professional model agency. As a second criterion, age is also a decisive factor. Most newcomers start modeling between the ages of 16 and 20. Some models are discovered even earlier. However, these are usually occasional side jobs that require parental consent until the age of majority. Other characteristics also play a major role in modeling. Primarily, these include clear skin with no visible pores as well as well-groomed hair that allows for a variety of different looks.

Anyone who has these basic prerequisites and has long considered working as a model can take the first step in their modeling career by submitting an application to a Parisian model agency. For this, both a formal letter and professionally taken photos by a photographer are required.
