Fashion shows 2017 – The highlights from the fashion capitals of the world

What are the highlights and trends for the upcoming autumn/winter season in the fashion capitals Paris, Berlin, London and New York, we have summarized for you here.

Fashion Week Paris – Highlights Autumn/Winter 2017

The fashion show of Rihanna’s collection ‘Fenty x Puma’, which took place in a stunning room with 1 trillion books lined up on the walls. This created the impression for the audience as if they had landed in a mixture of Harry Potter and Hip Hop. Definitely a highlight of the Paris Fashion Week!

The Yves Saint Laurent glitter boots were also one of the highlights of Paris Fashion Week 2017, worn at the Sophomore show by Anthony Vaccarello and reflecting the over the top glamour of the upcoming fall / winter season. The bad news. They cost around $10,000.

Lena Hoscheke convinced this year with her theme ‘Disney’ ! Mickey Mouse can be found on dresses, skirts combined with bright colors and the for Hoscheke known cuts of the 50s. The collection conveys good mood and light-heartedness, an important symbol for the disigner. “A hedonistic collection,” Hoschek says of her designs.

The big social media happening took place at the Riani show. This season: Sarah Lombardi in the front row and almost only social media stars and influencers on the catwalk. From Sami Slimani in a bathrobe to Farina Opoku they were all there, alternated by well-known model faces like Rebecca Mir, Monica Ivancan or Cheyenne Ochsenknecht.

Fashion Week London – Highlights Autumn/Winter 2017

Burberry rediscovers itself at London Fashion Week. Designer Christopher Bailey is designing asymmetrically this year, with much looking like ordered chaos. We all don’t know what tomorrow will bring, we can try to figure it out though, right? In this sense, Bailey is a bit of an artist, and art was also present in his collection and show: artworks by Henry Moore decorated the edges of the venue, prints inspired by Moore were found on some of the designs.

Another highlight was designer Christopher Kane’s “Craft & Work” collection, which was full of things we associate with work, such as cut-out dishwashing sponges glued to pumps, rolled-up sleeves and smock-like dresses. And because Christopher Kane thinks in terms we don’t expect, he brought it all together with another world: outer space! This came in the form of UFO prints and materials such as a silver lamé.

Fashion Week New York – Highlights Fall/Winter 2017

Michael Kors, the fashion optimist sent down the runway a whole collection full of classics and must-haves for power women. Emphasized shoulders and defined waists were Michael Kors’ guiding principles, but he mixed up the retro silhouettes with modern details, slits and fringes. Masculine-cut coats, jackets and trousers offered timeless contrast to feminine tulip skirts, long flowing sparkling dresses with animal prints and plenty of opulent fur. Lots of tweed, cashmere and XXL scarves in sweater-sleeve look ensured a sense of security despite all the sensuality. Strong women are the order of the day at Michael Kors.
