In a real model agency, however, you are not booked to tell exciting and personal stories or to gain more reach through conflict. In model agencies, it’s about professional posing, so that photos can be taken quickly and the team can move on to the next outfit. No one needs to stage themselves or tell personal stories here; it’s exclusively about your ability! TV casting shows and model agency castings basically differ in that for television, people are particularly selected who stand out through strong emotions or a lot of speaking time. The requirements in a model agency, on the other hand, focus on your talent and ability as a model.

As a model, it’s important for you that if you want to work professionally as a Plus Size or Curvy model, you look for a management that doesn’t plan with you for a show series but for 4 years. So that you can develop step by step, your model portfolio gets better and better, you gain real experience through real jobs and therefore become better and more confident. These women are looking for people in magazines, advertising, or online shops with whom they can identify well.

The body height of a plus size model is less decisive than for a high fashion model. Why is that? As a high fashion model, you also work in many showrooms and for fashion shows. The grid is very tight here because the competition is very strong. Women also have to match the male models, wearing high heels. In the end, a uniform line should emerge during a fashion show when looking over the heads of the models. This creates harmony in the show and more focus on the fashion. Curvy models are currently mainly booked for photo shoots and for commercials. Therefore, as a curvy model, you can also become a model without being 176 cm tall, due to the lower competition. As a curvy model, you can also work with a height of 174 cm, if the overall package is otherwise good.

The emotions must come across honestly and authentically. To master this, you must know your body exactly, your own abilities, but also your facial expressions must constantly be controlled. With every single photo, click, click, click, both the posing and your facial expressions and emotions must be perfect. To combine all of this into one point and professionally, focused, deliver it during a photo shoot is really a high art. The A&O for plus size models but also for models with sizes 32, 34 or 36 is your own body feeling and that you are happy and satisfied with yourself.

Requirements for castings in the job
