London – We had a great start in this year and now we have the first model casting in London – ever! We are looking for wonderful models, which fit to our agency and the spirit of CM. Our home market is Germany, but we work in the entire European Union and we are growing in Asia and United States. Especially in London, we do have request for shootings, castings and showrooms by our European clients and British clients as well. So, we need to find the best new faces of London. With our London scout and a few team members, we like to meet you on the 3rd February!

Basics for your model casting in London

For many models, London is one of the big cities where it pays off to work as a model! Here you will not only find the top designers of the world. London is spectacular, in so many places! Fashion and trends can be discovered day and night. Millions of tourists populate London every year, bringing highlights from all over the world. Between the boutiques, the big megastores and the Fashion Week but also romp a few million inhabitants. There is always something going on in London and the city is not sleeping. How does a casting actually work?

A model casting is usually relatively fast and quick. It all depends on the first moment, the famous first moment.

You sign up first at the reception and get your individual number as a sticker, this number you wear visibly on the upper body. The number is very important because the casting jury will later review all the models, photos and video footage. Based on the numbers can be quickly understood which model is currently visible. After a short wait, your number will be called.In the preparation you should always wear everything that is important. This includes black jeans, a white T-shirt or top for women and high heels. For men, plain black or white shoes, so that nothing distracts from you.

After you are called, someone brings you to the jury. Infront of the the casting jury, you introduce yourself. With name, place of residence (London or outside), age and your hobbies. Everything else will then the jury tell or ask you!

Usually after the performance you will do a short catwalk, that is, you will go away from the jury and back again, mostly a version in “High Fashion” and a version in “Commercial” or with a smile. That’s it! Now your measurements will be taken, a few Polaroids shot and after 5 minutes everything is done. Our jury will then report back to you in the next few days with the results!

What are the requirements as a model in London?

As in many fashion metropolises in the world, there are basic requirements for models that have to be met for almost all jobs. Basically, always good looks, a well-groomed appearance, nutrition, fitness but also the minimum dimensions.

• Men should be at least 185cm tall
• Men should be a maximum of 195cm tall
• Women should be at least 175cm tall
• Women should be a maximum of 181cm tall

The minimum sizes are so important because often several models are booked. These must harmonize with each other in the overall picture so that there are not too great differences. Imagine a fashion show in London and each model has different dimensions, the focus would be immediately away from the clothes. Models in advertising and fashion shows represent the customers’ products. Spots, shows and all other media have to be in harmony, so even models have to adhere to certain standards. This is what customers, productions and, of course, us as a modeling agency are looking for.

Do I need a ready-made model book for a casting?

You only have to take along your model portfolio if you already have professional footage from photographers. If you are absolutely new and have not gained experience as a model in London, you do not need to take any footage with you! It is enough if you take a smile and are friendly. The rest takes over our modeling agency in the later construction!How do I apply for a casting?
