Amesh at #MBFW2019
Finally it’s time, the first show is over and we were right at the front for you. The start for a promising fashion week at Berlin’s E-Werk was made by designer Amesh Wijesekera from Sri Lanka. We were thrilled and have the highlights for you.
Who is Amesh Wijesekera?
Amesh Wijesekera had his big breakthrough as an international fashion star in 2016, winning the Graduate Fashion Week London’s International catwalk competition at London Fashion Week and attracting the attention of the world. The designer from Sri Lanka. Shines through his unique love for textiles and colour, which he brings to life with the help of talented tailors from his homeland. Handcrafted in batik mixed with unique, digital technology make for an incredible eye-catcher.
Amesh 2019
Also at the Fashion Week Berlin 2019 Amesh was thrilled again. His outfits inspire like every year anew. The mixture of masculine and feminine outfits has attracted attention. Men were also allowed to radiate a touch of feminism in fashion. Bright pink tops with fur elements and matching flare pants with orange stripes are not the first thing that comes to mind in men’s fashion. However, Amesh makes sure that it still comes across well and convincingly. Another core element of Amesh’s fashion is knitwear. Again and again we see combinations of knitwear, fur and crazy prints, which almost give you a space feeling.
Stefanie Giesinger at Amesh
With a talent like Amesh, of course the celebrities must not be missing. In the front row was the international top model Stefanie Giesinger, who showed her great enthusiasm for the unique looks. The surprise was written in her face, she doesn’t see anything like it every day. Especially the last piece convinced Stefanie and us. Two gold outfits that ran together. 2 men, hand in hand with flowers sewn to the clothes for a particularly feminine feeling. An outfit that radiates acceptance and tolerance. We are curious to see what Fashion Week has in store for us.
