Agency Model Coaching – personality and appearance for models

Personality. Posing. Catwalk. Sunday morning started our long prepared model coaching in our agency building in Cologne’s Mediapark. Two experienced model coaches, Lutz and Omega, supported our CM Models team with personality coaching and catwalk training for the models. The response was great and our models were highly motivated to improve their skills. Michelle accompanied our models and gives a short insight into the exclusive model coaching.

Well structured model coaching

At half past nine our CM Models team starts with the last preparations for the Model Coaching in the Mediapark in Cologne. Screens are set up, small snacks prepared and the camera equipment checked. The first models arrive on time at half past nine. We are excited and the models are already looking forward to the exclusive model coaching. The day is well structured, starting with personal coaching at Lutz, followed by catwalk training at catwalk expert Omega. Besides, short videos of our models are shot and Polaroid photos are taken.

Training Schedule (Sunday): Catwalk, Posing, Presence

Part 1: Running coaching, catwalk training (Omega)

In Run Coaching, Catwalktraining with men Model Omega we practice different running styles, which help you in the model everyday life, on castings and in your jobs. Omega is known as an international model and catwalk coach. Omega teaches you to master every catwalk professionally and perfectly.

Part 2: Personality and charisma (Lutz)

From Modelcoach Lutz you get to know your own strengths and your individual character. As international models and recognized acting coach, Lutz knows how to sell strength. With personality and charisma your appearance with the customer will be perfect in the future.

Part 3: Posing and shooting training (Oliver)

With free posing you inspire your customers. That’s why in the third part of the workshop you will learn from Oliver Rudolph. Oliver Rudolph is a fashion photographer and professional when it comes to staging in front of the camera. He teaches you how to move in front of the camera and how to present fashion pieces and co. perfectly.

Part 4: Choreography (Marcel)

In the final choreographic training you will learn different routes of the international catwalk. For the finale we will run a complete rehearsal together and of course we will give tips and suggestions for improvement.

Part 5: Polaroid Shooting / Personal Video (internal)

During and after the workshop we ask individual persons to make a short shooting appointment. We give you the perfect background for a professional Polaroid set, with white background, optimal light and top photographer. In the second step we shoot a personal video for your next performance at the customer. That means personality, posing, walking! You introduce yourself, call yourself your agency, show yourself in profile (like Polaroids), post in front of the camera and do a walk.

Personality coaching with modeling professional Lutz

Lutz enters the room, numerous pairs of eyes examine the self-confident personal coach, who also works as an experienced model. His charisma is likeable and engaging, we are convinced: He can give our models a lot in the matter of “appearance” with customers. He talks entertainingly about his experiences in the model industry, emphasizing how important charisma and body language alone are for the first impression. Very important: Our models must understand that their body is the decisive working instrument. A training in advance is very important, everyone must get to know his body exactly. The charisma is not only conveyed by emotions, that is new to many. Body Language: An underestimated means to show character. The models must take up space with their aura and show full presence. Interesting: Customers read the characteristics of potential models based on their posture, without many words is a judgment made, job: Yes or no!

How to convey emotions correctly

How do I look sexy? How do I radiate grief when I’m not sad at all? How can I develop anger at the push of a button? Typical thoughts and problems of a model. Acting talent is a must in the modeling business. Just like an actor, a good model must be able to slip into different roles. While the models learn different posing tricks, our photographer Oli takes Polaroid photos and performance videos with each model in single passes. English language skills are tested: Everyone must introduce themselves briefly in English. Lutz goes through some exercises with the other models and lets them recreate typical situations from everyday model life. Shy models have no chance to hide in the crowd, Lutz proves his skills. After one and a half hours, Lutz is almost unstoppable and our models are thrilled, the personality coaching is coming to an end. In cooperation with Lutz, our photographer Oli carries out a short sample shooting with some of the models in front of the group. The newly learned posing techniques are immediately demonstrated. The coaching has had an effect! Our models skilfully implement the learned posing tricks. At the end of the training Oli gives the models some tips for working with different photographers. Now the whole team deserves a short break. The small snack buffet lures with different delicacies and coffee smell fills the foyer.

Catwalk Coaching with catwalk professional Omega

Catwalk professional Omega is already waiting motivated in the event room. Our models occupy their seats with fresh energy and satisfied faces. Omega starts with a big smile and a short straight-walk. WOW, he knows his stuff. His top catwalk rule: Every catwalk performance is about selling! Pressure and internal tension are good, but there must still be a special serenity. The presentation on the catwalk must be controlled, yet relaxed and natural. Fashion is in the foreground, the models only present the products. You have to play a role not only during photo shoots, but also on the catwalk. Omega introduces different catwalk types and does some exercises with the models. The event room is filled with sales rattling, the models improve their weaknesses under Omega’s instructions. Omega spreads a good mood, the models are motivated and constantly improving. Especially the posing turn turns out to be a small catwalk trap. No problem! The group takes it with humor: Like actors on a film set, our models repeat their walks until Omega gives his “Go”. The final walk ends the instructive and entertaining catwalk training. Let’s hear it for Omega!

After the success comes the relaxation

The last show videos will be available soon. Our whole team gathers and the models demonstrate their new catwalk skills. Satisfactory feedback goes through the round. We are proud of our protégés and grateful for the great work of the coaches. A successful Sunday comes to an end. From 5 pm the models make their way home with many new insights. Our CM Models team takes down the props and sets off for the well-earned weekend.
