Model scouts are always on the lookout for new models. A scout usually works freelance for a model agency and is sometimes on the lookout for new faces internationally. A model scout works indirectly around the clock, as they also keep an eye out for new models in everyday life and approach them. Normally, a model scout is paid an agreed fee for new discoveries. However, there are also other internal agreements, e.g. a certain discount on the commission if the model lands jobs. A model scout must have a feel for the “type” in demand in the current fashion scene. Models are often discovered by model scouts during agency assignments.
