About You Fashion Week 2021: Leni Klum, Lena Gercke & Lascana
About You Fashion Week – Always after the Berlin Fashion Week follows the AYFW. Kraftwerk Berlin presented About You its unique autumn/winter 2021 fashion show from September 11 to 15. With the motto “Freedom of Identity”, About You wants to break classic role models, dissolve binary identities and especially promote tolerance. This important message will be interpreted individually in the fashion shows during the AYFW, but also visually and conceptually taken up in all areas of the location. Among others, top-class national and international guests were present, including special guest US rapper will.i.am, US model and influencer Luka Sabbat, Leni Klum, Lena Gercke, Guido Maria Kretschmer. About You Fashion Show
In addition to the About You Fashion Show, there are twelve shows by individual brands such as Levi’s, Adidas or Lascana. All styles are presented by a diverse cast of models with different gender identities, sizes, sexualities and ethnic backgrounds. Guests will have the opportunity to discover selected collection pieces in the concept store. New to About You Fashion Week, creator and fashion talent Kayla Shyx presents her collection “Shyx – excluive for About You” on the runway.
Absolute highlight: Leni Klum x About You
Up-and-coming model Leni Klum launches her first own collection at the About You Fashion Show and is represented on the catwalk herself. She was supported by Bill Kaulitz. And what was there to see? Among other things, wide denim jackets and oversized dungarees. Furthermore also clothes in the trendy nude looks.
LeGer X About You
Lena Gercke’s hip styles are all about attitude and confidence! Her collection brings a French flair to About You Fashion Week, transforming the catwalk into a raw, Parisian streetwalk, which is conquered by the models in no time. Check it out for yourself and get inspired!
Lascana X About You
Another highlight of the AYFW was the Lascana Fashion Show. This year, Lascana celebrates femininity in all its beauty, regardless of outdated norms. Because femininity is no longer defined by a certain look or a certain gender – but by everyone in their own way!
Behind the Show: Tom Van Dorpe
Belgian designer Tom Van Dorpe provides insights into the planning of the fashion show, from the selection of models to the location.
The exclusive event takes place at Kraftwerk Berlin. In the Experience Area, the focus is on the human aura as a creative interpretation. The aura is just as individual as one’s own identity and should visually represent the answer to the question “Who are you? A special highlight: Each guest can have his or her aura read out. The coloured representation of the aura of all guests is taken up as an installation of growing mountains of foam in the runway set-up. Julian Jansen, Content Director at About You, wants to offer world-class fashion show productions with the About You Fashion Week 21.
