Catwalk models and their requirements

The modeling industry is becoming more and more diverse, and body size often plays a less important role today than it used to. Nevertheless, there are still certain requirements at the big fashion weeks. The minimum height for female models on the catwalk is usually 1.74 meters and 1.84 meters for male models. Those with these measurements usually have a better chance of being booked for shows in Paris or Milan.

Different types of runways

Not every catwalk is the same. The most common variant is a simple walkway on which you walk straight ahead and return. But there are also more spectacular runways: sometimes you run over glass slabs that lie over a pool, or over sand, earth or cobblestones. Running in high heels on such different surfaces can be a real challenge, so it’s important that you practise beforehand.
