Parent agency
A mother agency is a model agency that provides special support for a model. It takes you by the hand at the beginning of your career and always takes time for questions, training and advice. If the model is represented by other agencies and is booked by them, the mother agency receives a fixed deduction, also known as commission, from the fee. This deduction is usually 10 percent.
New faces in particular have to be completely rebuilt and promoted by a model agency, i.e. test shoots are organized, the model receives special coaching and sedcards are built up. A mother agency also takes care of contracts with agencies abroad and arranges visas, model apartments and travel. To protect themselves, model agencies award contracts to such new faces with potential mother agency contracts.
