The first magazine was published in the USA in 1958. The abbreviation GQ stands for “Gentlemen’s Quarterly”. In Germany, the first GQ appeared in October 1997. Five years later, GQ expanded its magazine and complemented it with the fashion special edition GQ-Style. Due to declining sales figures, the directors reduced the publication periods from monthly to quarterly releases.
