Nevertheless, always be careful, quickly explained why: Model agencies or model management do not exist for free, they check every casting, every client, every request in advance. As an agency model, you will only get top castings that are not open. If you are not in a modeling agency, check in advance: Who is doing the casting? Who is the casting for? Are you earning money with it?

If anyone wants money from you, say no immediately!You should never pay money for an audition or the chance of a supposed job.

How does an open casting work?

Preparing for an open audition is crucial to making a positive impression. Here are some steps you should follow:

Preparation:

• Natural appearance: Avoid flashy make-up or styling. The jury wants to see your natural look
• Simple outfit: Wear a monochrome outfit in neutral colors such as black or white. It shouldn’t be too flashy to put the focus on you as a person

• Portfolio: If you already have experience as a model, bring the best photos from your past jobs on a tablet or even on your cell phone

• Introduction: Introduce yourself briefly as if you were speaking in an introduction video. Be self-confident and authentic
