The measurements are an important part of the sedcard and consist of height, weight, chest and waist circumference, clothing size, shoe size and eye and hair color. The agency must be informed of any changes, as the exact measurements are decisive for the client.

Model measurements on the runway

The modeling industry is becoming increasingly open and a model’s height is playing less and less of a role. However, if you want to make a career in catwalk modeling in particular and make a name for yourself on the runway at fashion weeks, you should still be aware that there are more opportunities for models with certain measurements than for those who do not. The minimum height for female models on the catwalk is 1.74 and for male models 1.84. Photo models can also fall below the minimum height, but in the long term they have less chance of making it internationally in the modeling business.

More opportunities as a model

As a model for shoots, campaigns or editorials, you have more chances with different measurements. For the runway and high fashion shoots, the desired measurements for female models are usually 90-60-90, but commercial models can easily be successful with different measurements. Diversity and different body types are increasingly sought after!
